まずは、この国立競技場で走れたということが嬉しい。この大会があると決まった瞬間から楽しみにしていたので、今日、このレースを走れて、とても嬉しかった。

今回は自己ベスト（自己記録9分49秒30）を目指したレースだったが、序盤からライバルの選手に前に出られてしまって、最後の1周で出るという形になってしまった。自分のなかでは悔しいという思いが強い。

今季は、まず、この大会で自己ベストを出して、日本インカレ（9月上旬）で学生記録（9分44秒22）の更新を狙っていた。今回、そのステップを踏むことができなかったが、次の大会に向けて、今日できた課題を糧に頑張っていきたい。

I’m so happy to run in this National Stadium. From the moment when the meet was confirmed, I was looking forward to it. So excited to run this race.

I was targeting my PB 9:49.30 but my rival ended up leading the race from the beginning and I was only able to take the lead in the last lap. I know I need to do better.

This season, the plan was to PB in this meet and break the Japanese collegiate record 9:44.22. Today I couldn’t PB but I’ll learn from today and work to get better.
